I have a friend with a new third gen, I have a second gen. He is asking about the lift pump and if it has problems like mine. I gather from the poll that there arent too many failures. Am I wrong and is it the same pump as mine or a new one. Lastly, if they are better, will they work on a second gen?

 

They have had some things done to them ( I don't know the specifics) to try and make them more reliable since your 2001 was built.

But essentially they are the same pump until 2005MY when the pump moves to the tank.
