Low speed steering woes

My 2007 has 80K miles on it. Recently at low speeds, like while parking, the power steering doesn't have the strength it once had. When I first noticed it I checked the level and it was at the low mark on the dipstick; I've topped it off and purged the system. This didn't help.

My braking seems unaffected. There is no increase in steering ability at higher RPM.

Has anyone had this happen? Is the pump slowly failing?

I am starting to notice my steering is getting much harder at a stop or very low speed also. Has anyone seen this issue, and found the fix for it?

If you owned a K5 you wouldn't have this problem.

Probably the gearbox is starting to wear out.
