Lots of white smoke on start up.. HELP please
Heres the deal i have a 2007 5.9 diesel and when i first start it up in the morning it will just blow white smoke like Crazy and will keep doin it until i give it some throttle and then it is fine. BUT if i dont push the pedel down alittle to help it get up to RPMs then it will just sit there and smoke. I dont think there is a Problem because it still pulls AWESOME and drives nice. I did run off-diesel in it a couple times. AM I HURTING THE MOTOR. please let me know whats going on. The WAIT TO START LIGHT does not come on so i dont have to wait to start it. Also it is up to temp and i shut her down and then fire it back up no smoke thanks
sounds like s leaky or sticky injector. . .run a good quality cleaner first and run it hard to clean out any carbon build up. . keep an eye on your oil level to be sure your not adding fuel to your oil and see what happens. If still no change go visit DC.
white smoke, rough idle on cold start
I have the same problem that has developed within the last month. Sometimes worse than others. Truck has 18k miles on it and been very well maintained. Fuel filter was changed at 15k as was the oil and filters. Starts up very easy and quick, smokes and idles a littel rough till the throttle is pressed. I drained my water/fuel seperator, but no help. Spoke to the service guy and he said an could be a number of things but not likely injectors since it starts easy. Bugs me! Any suggestions or solutions before I take it in. Thanks. PCM
