Listen to this

Hopped out of the truck today and as i was behind the truck about 15-20ft and it seemed to be idling a little "odd"... seemed like it was missing somewhat... kind of a chug a lug sound that just didnt seem normal, sorry hard to describe.

decided to record the sound on the phone, no picture just sound... so let me paint the picture if you decide to listen to the clip.
-start at the tailpipe...then walk behind the truck about 15ft and turn towards the truck... then walk back to the tailpipe for a few seconds then make my way towards the passenger side wheel... pause for a few seconds... then make my way around the front and then to the driver side wheel before the sound clip ends.

would yall mind telling me if anything sounds odd to you... i seem to think i hear a tisk tisk or a tick tick sound often while im driving or when i hop in/out of the truck. Ive been thinking about getting the valves adjusted, has 106,2xx on the truck. changing the oil this weekend as well. OR lemme know if im just hearing things

Thanks in advance, good folks on this site.

Sounds ok. 100+g's on it, it could use a valve snugging up. Best thing to do is work them hard. They get quirky when driven easy. When mine gets the running quirks every now and then, I hook up the bob cat trailer+the bob cat, and head for highway. After a day of that, she runs like new.

every once in a while at a stop light my 05 will seem like its idling a little rough.

at the next opportunity i let it run wild and free for awhile

it always seems to smooth right out.

keep air and fuel filters changed and maybe add a bit of diesel kleen from time to time.

you could have picked a bit of bad fuel, did you fuel up at your normal station or a out of the way station,

if so, their fuel could have some moisture.

I always try to fuel at the same local BP station, where the local ambulance company fuels their vehicles and said they have never gotten any bad fuel.

Yep same fuel, same station. And run optilube on my fillups. I actually am close to needing a new filter, might as well just change it out sooner.
