Line pressure adjustment

Line pressure adjustment

Has anyone on here with a stock 48re adjusted the line pressure screw out a few turns with positive results?

Minimal impact from what I have seen. Its like 3 lbs per turn and you can only get 4-5 turns before you run out of adjustment.

These transmissions need a 30-40 psi bump on the bottom end and 70-100 psi on the top end to get the line pressure where it will do any good. You need the right springs to do that. The adjustment is just to fine tune things.

I guess a better question would be is there any harm in trying it to well functioning trans in hopes of maybe just a tad firmer shifts?

Worth a try. I have tried it a couple times and I really could not feel a difference. Might have had more wear or other problems that interfered also.

Did you notice going into R or D was it a bigger jolt after adjusting?

No, like I said it didn't seem to make any noticeable difference. It can't but help a stocker one would think.
