Lift Pump, cps, ????

I am absolutely stumped. I have posted a couple of times on here about my truck not starting right. It was never really a problem until today. I got in my truck, went to work, went to leave for lunch, and it cranked, cranked, and cranked some more for about 20 seconds. I let it set for a couple of minutes and tried again. This time i pumped the pedal a few times and it did reluctantly start this time. Now I have a check engine light on. The code is P0341 - cam shaft position sensor. All the symptoms made me think it was the lift pump. (i thought). It runs fine down the highway, it just wont start. Would the cam position sensor be the problem? I can't find anyone that has one in stock, but i guess when i can get one, i will change the cps and go from there. Any suggestions what else it might be if the cps isn't the problem? Ill take all the ideas i can get. thanks.

I am working on a 2004 with a different problem, but from what I have read the cam sensor will give you a hard or no start. I am sure others will chime in on this.

I forgot to mention that I talked with someone from glacier diesel power and he did not think it was my lift pump because when i turn my key on, i can hear the pump.

The crank position sensor and the cam position sensor are the same part you can try swapping them and see if the problem follows the sensor, you should get a crank position sensor error.(0335 or 0336 possibly).

The cam sensor is used on startup and then the ECM switches over to the crank sensor so its possible that if the cam sensor is hooped that it won't start.

another suggestion i got was the check valve in the lift pump. A guy i talked to said i was losing my prime because that went bad. Is the check valve in the tank too or is it in line somewhere?
