Last 5.9 build Date
What was the cut off bate for the 5.9. At what build date did the 6.7 start? What is the better engine? What gets better MPG?

At the end of 2006 (07 model year), Id buy the 5.9 if given a choice.

No there are 07s with 5.9s. The 6.7s are called 07.5.

anything built after jan1 07 is a 6.7, the gov. made eveything have a dpf in 07, my 5.9 was built in december 06

Unless you live in Mexico, you can still get get a 5.9 there.

Can you still get a Ram SUV from Mexico? I saw 2nd Gen Ram 1500 SUV about a year ago; it had Mexico plates on it.

A 3rd Gen Ram 3500 SUV with Cummins would be a cool vehicle.

My truck rolled off the assembly line on Dec 21st 2006. One of the last 5.9's. But the good thing was, I got the upgraded G-56 tranny with the higher gears and a few other goodies.

Looks like I need to find a low mile 07 mege cab with the 5.9. Have the 6.7 problems been worked out. I realy like the interior of the 2010.

Mine is a 2007 5.9 made in Dec 2006. I have the G-56 with the higher OD as well. Great combo!

Crawl under and look for a sticker with AE on it. I can't remember what the other trans code is though.
