Lamp out with annoying gong

2003 CTD 2500 HO 6spd 114000 miles

Lamp out on dash w/gong . After checking all lights, turn sigs incl. high/low beams, nothing is out ! Who of you can explain this and how can I fix this myself ? I have a faint recall of seeing something in the past about Dodge having problems with the tail lights ???

Thanks, Art

Thats right!! The back left TailLight is the Demon!!! Check it out and see if the base has been melted. My 03 had the backup light loose and when I would hit a bump the Ding would go off. Just Replace the rear bulbs and it will go away.

ditto, that style bulb is a pain ! they always seem to melt or the the contacts (wire) on the base of the bulb wear and break/split

i have gone through 2 sets of circuit boards on my tail lights.
i am not sure why, all bulbs are always good, but the sockets they snap into seem to burn, or melt or some thing inside the board. i just replace them and good for another couple hundred miles

Mine did that for about 3 months, I would check all the lights and everything worked, all lights on, brake lights, flashers. One day when I was at the dealer my Service Writer said did you know your left brake light does not work when you are moving. Duh, I could not check them while it was moving. In my case replacing the bulb fixed the problem.
