labor $ clutch install???

i have a 06 4x4 , 110000 miles, clutch slipped for the first time, got a price on here for one,"thanks larry" but installation varies from $450 to 800, what is reasonable? i do not mind paying for quality work, just do not want to get ripped off..5 hrs to "all day" time frame. is the dual disk worth the extra price instead of single disk organic? do not want to do this again for awhile

thanks

I would suggest you look at the OFE instead of the con o......I know Southbend pointed you in that direction but that OFE is a GREAT clutch and gives you a little more wiggle room should you decide to try a programmer

I usually quote 8 hrs for replacing on 4X4 trucks but most times a rear main seal is also needed. Any seals that show signs of leaking should be replaced. I usually replace the seals N/C since it only takes a few minutes to but new seals in when trans it out.

most of the time when i use my pickup i pull 5k max, my 110000 mile clutch slipped pulling a 24000k bulldozer, my fault shifted too early.... worry about con fe not for me but when my wife drives...backing and "bucking" .......8 hrs. one quote 90$ a hour other $60 an hour..standard transmission who could not beat your "larry's " price recommend a transmission shop and they had a flat 550$ price.... i dont know, i try to do most work my self but the size of the transmission ect, has me worried

I left my t-case bolted up but chained it to the tranny jack so it wouldn't try to turn the whole mess over once I got it removed from the engine. Had my flywheel re-surfaced and installed a new rear main seal and cam seal (that one is important and very cheap) and reinstalled in about a day.....taking my sweet time to pay attention to detail.

Really all you need is a good mechanically inclined buddy and a good transmission jack and you're good as gold! All in all, I had about $700 tied up with the whole project....clutch assembly, rear main and cam seal, and flywheel surfacing.

BTW, you won't regret the Con OFE if that's what you decide to get!!!!!!!
