I have 64500 miles on this 2006 6 speed Ive noticed i have a knocking noise when going up though the gears mainly 2nd and third, it sounds fine at Idle, little rough occasionally, and it sounds and runs great at hwy speeds. ? surely its not a main bearing or a rod but? any thought would be appreciated.

 

Wonder if it's the DMF clutch.

A buddy bought my 03, and lately he had a bit of a vibration at idle, with an audible knock when lugged down and accelerating in 2 or 3. Seemed fine once up into the power band.

Just from the shake at idle, I suspected an injector. Dealer computer confirmed one injector bad.

 

Before you start the expensive stuff, start with the cheap stuff first.

Get a 8mm wrench, and a $2 tube of loctite.

Tighten the injector insulator holders, and put some red goop on them.

I'm not saying that is the problem, it could be your throw out easily. I'm not much for noises with manuals.

Tighten them, see what happens. Report back.

 

Thanks Mad, took it to the ******* today and they told me the #4 injector was bad. hopefully this is all. Ill let you guys know.
