Well my 05 CTD gave it up. Heard a deep knock deep in the engine. It turned out to be #4 rod. 18k miles never abused. Been in the shop now for 5 weeks. Finally received a new shortblock from Cummins. Now guess what, no head gaskets!!!!!! Oh well.

I hate that. I feel like they should pull one out of truck on the lot and then sale yours as a remanufactured. 5 weeks is too long to be with out a truck, espically if you use it for work.
