Had the same experience at my dealer. They had everyone in there involved in trying to tell me they didn't sell such a thing. They're usually good so I was persistant. I told them "I'm a member of this website and I know for a fact that other dealers are selling them to the other members and I wouldn't think their dealers are better than you guys" LOL A few miniutes later the lady said "what a ya know there it is $118.00" Then I said "their dealers are selling them for around the mid $90.00s She smiled and said "done"......So be persistant, they had mine in two days out of Saint Louis.
Do a search on here and you can find the part number and give it to them that'll blow their mind....LCH

Don't forget to check the TSB's for the program upgrade for the 04.5 CPU for excessive white smoke at startup and there is something else about poor in cab heat.

Yes, I've had the milage and white smoke TSB done already. I'm not too concerned about the poor incab heat, it eventually gets hot, it just takes forever.

I up here in Fairbanks, and I can tell you that the Dodge front cover works extremely well. I close it all the way off, and now I actually get to move the levers that REDUCE the air temp! I plug it in all night when its not in the garage because when I need to start it (emergency at 2am) it WILL start!

I also use an remote starter with the high idle unit wired in. I start it, let it run until the factory idle rises, and then hit the auxillary button and let 'er run at 1500 rpm...

The heat still doesn't come on like a gasser, but it does get there.....

I've been plugging mine in plus I have the lund stainless steel grill inserts that totally block off the grill. I don't have much problem with it blowing warm air but I would like it to get up to operating temp and be there for a while before I shut it off. Today I bought the Dodge diesel winter Rad cover and installed it. Going to try it out tonight to see if it overheats the engine on the highway with it fully closed and with the lund inserts. The trip is about 100 km round trip, thats about 60 miles for friends south of the border. Speed limit is between 80 - 90 kph, 50-55 mph.

I'll report back later

The temp was -8/ or 18 degrees celsius for the trip and the needle only went over 1/2 way once and was by just a little bit. Thats with all flaps closed and the lund grille inserts in. These diesel cooling systems are incredible. Truck was previously plugged in prior to trip. Took 9 minutes for the needle to start moving but that was going 30 mph/50 kph through town. It then took another 5 minutes for it to reach full temp but those 5 minutes were going at 50 mph/ 80 kph on the highway.
Don't know if anyone cares or not but I thought I would post it just in case!!!

Good info Brambles! Thanks. I'm still trying to find one to buy. My dealer called with one, but they want $119...I think I can find it cheaper online.

Just ordered one from HERE for $115 including ground shipping. I'll probably still get it faster than the dealer could get it in...and I think I've got a great dealer too. I think its pretty sad that they didn't even know what I was talking about though. Had they had one in the shop or even been able to find one in a catalog, I would have paid them for it on the spot...oh well.

Want to give a big thank you to Mishkaya for the info on the cold weather front. The dealer couldn't find it and Mishkaya had the part number. Also just so you know the 06 accessory catalog doesn't have this in it. It will be in the 05 accessory catalog in the section with the bug screens. Just thought that I would let you know just in case anyone would want to get one of these.

I tried to order one from the LR Cummins store today. THEY were totally confused. Tried to sell me one with a thermostat. They finally got out the Dodge book and found it, but did'nt have it and wanted to order it for $29.00. Went by my local NAPA with part # (I got off DTR) and ordered it for $18 and some change. Will be here Fri.
