Interesting Idle Behavior
Most of the time, my CTD idles right at 750 RPM, just like it's supposed to. But if I'm coasting to stop at a light or stop sign (clutch in, so engine disengaged) the RPM's will only drop to ~850 and remain until I begin pressing the brake pedal. Then they gracefully drop to 750 and stay there.
It's almost like the ECM is anticipating that I may use the engine again without coming to a stop, so it keeps the revs a little high in preparation. Then when I use the brake, it decides "OK, we really are going to stop so I'll slow down the engine the rest of the way".
It's not broken, but I've never seen this behavior mentioned anywhere. It's done it since delivery so it's not something associated with the recent reflash.
Anyone else seeing this? Is it intentional? Is it documented anywhere?
Thanks!
