instrument cluster

First thing for my first post, amazing is what this site is, awesome help with lots so far.

I'm doing a swap for my cluster as my tach is pooched. Do I need to get it programmed?or does the computer store the mileage even with the batteries disconnected?
Thanks everyone

the 03 is specific to a 03, a few other years are interchangeable. (dont have that info in front of me)

the mileage is stored in the cluster "and" the ECM, change them both and only carfax knows mileage by vehicle title, insurance claims & inspection information gathered by them.

whatever cluster you put in your truck the mileage stored in the new cluster will be viewed regardless of what the ECM says

BTW, before you change the cluster, change the crank sensor first, you tach may come back to life.
