Just finished a 500 mile trip and I even like the way the trans handles even on a trip. It is so much more precise in the way it shifts and holds the gears. Passing is real strong now as it nails the gears with authority.

Here's what i want to know???
does the shift kit do anything for the late converter lockup?
I experience it real bad in high gear when my foot is to the floor. the tach just sits at redline for 3seconds before the converter locks in. it does it late in third gear also. it's my only REAL problem with the trans/converter at this point. My truck is still under full warranty, but at the street drags it was really annoying. my truck has only an edge box and DPF delete. I realize I SHOULD have an aftermarket converter and valve body by now(my plans), but funds have not allowed it. thanx , crossy

Mine has never suffered from that problem so I am unable to answer it completely. I will say that the converter will really lock with authority now.

if my tranny was an older version like and old TH350 or TH400 i would blame it only on the modulator or governor spring, but things are not that simple anymore.

I just installed the Transgo kit in my VB last weekend and towed a 15,000lb load 260 miles and am extremely happy with the performance shifts great but showed how loose the converter is. It is easy to install and eliminated the shuttle shift in my truck best $70 I spent.
The screw that adjusts the shift points is on the driver side you have to drop the pan and use a 3/16 allen on the lower screw with the built in washer and turn clockwise 1 turn = 75 rpm
The shift kit will change how hard the lockup is but not when lockup takes place.

Yes you have to drop the valve body. Not a big deal to do I put the truck on jack stands dropped the pan loosened up the bolts and let it drain for a while. put the shifter in low and you can remove the E clip from the parking rod so it stays in place. Just keep the bolts in order so you put them back where they came from (different lengths) You will need lots of clean space to lay things out when working on the VB
Won't be a Goerend but will beat a stocker any day

I just purchased a Transgo kit and I am trying to decide on how many holes to drill in valve body , did most of you go with two for a lot firmer shifts or just one . Going with two and finding it is to much has me a little nervous and putting this thing all together and wanting more does to . Thanks in advance for your help .
We need one of those smile faces that is scratching his head in confusion , at least I do .

I went with one hole and is firmer than stock but not bone charring. I am not sure about two holes and the feel. I was in the same boat when I did mine deciding how mant to do so I chickened out and did only one. Flip a coin and go for it and not look back.

I almost decided on drilling two holes but not sure yet , hopefully more will chime in . I do not want to be replacing universal joints every few months either . Wish I could drive one done both ways . Going one hole and down the line drilling the other if needed is one option I guess . Anyone on here also using the heaver duty governor solenoid , I ordered one of those also . I got it at http://www.transmissioncenter.net/dodge.htm
