Welder, did your problem begin immediately after you changed out the filter? I ask because it seems there are alot of injector related issues with the CR's. It's my assumption that contaminated fuel causes most of these issues in a stock truck.
Did you completely drain all of the fuel out of the filter housing before pulling the cap off, or just partially drained? I ask because I wonder if alot of these issues are the result of the filter changing procedure. If one doesn't drain or only partially drains the housing, crap will float off the outside of the old filter as it's pulled out, now all the fuel in the housing is dirty. Drop in the new filter and you've got crap floating around on the clean side of the filter and as soon as you start it, contaminated fuel goes straight to the rail and trashes some injectors. Just a thought.

I've changed the fuel filter with every oil change from day one. This is the procedure that I use. Open drain valve & let drain while changing oil, Open cap and pull filter half way up, it will now drain more, finish changing oil. Once the fuel has stopped dripping I pull the old filter out and replace. Screw the top back on & while the drain valve is still open I turn the key on and let more fuel run out. In my mind this was flushing out any contaminants that came out of the filter. Once that stops I close the valve and start. Maybe this was doing more harm than good! Yes I did change the filter on a Sunday & Monday morning it started with just a slightly longer crank time. When I started the truck after getting to work that's when I really noticed it was cranking too long. I also have done a lot of searching around on this & other forums. I would agree, I read more than one person saying it started after filer change.
