the implementation date was 12/06, so i would hope that all the ones out there would be the updated ones. if you want to be sure, find out the original and updated part #'s, and make sure the ones you get have the updated #. many times updated parts have letters like 'AB' at the end.

i am experiencing the rough start/white smoke on startup. Unfortunately, I have no warranty. I have seen the "kill" test recomended quite frequently in relation to determining if any injectors need replaced. I have been unable to find out how to perform this test myself. One thread mentioned you must have the appropriate scanner to perform. I was wondering if this was true? Any information on the "kill" test would be greatly appreciated!!

I believe you have to take it to a dealer for the kill test. It is done via the computer /ECM. Also, a lot of privale Diesel shops are not allowed to carry the same DRB the dealer uses. I know someone who took thier truck to cummins facility and they could not read all the codes... Chrysler has us by the *****.

i'm not sure if you can do it yourself, but my buddy just had his dealership do his on his 2nd gen, and they only charged him a $99 diagnostic fee. of course they could have just been trying to drum up some work, as all the bays were empty.
