idle performance fault???

I recently took my truck to the dealers for some service. When I got my truck back they said the technician did a courtesy check on my truck and they said I had a idle performance fault. The dealer could not explain to me what this is and said he could hook me up and run a diagnostic for $180.00 bucks. NO THANKS! Has anyone heard of this problem before? I think the idle problem is my lift pump beginning to go out. The RPM's jump a couple hundred every now and then the truck revs itself back up and the problem is gone. Any thoughts out there?

Sounds more like an APPS (Accelerator Pedal Position Sensor). Do you have any performance boxes or programmers loaded?
