I need Pedal Position Sensor (P2121) help, please!

I have a early 2004 6sp and last weekend halfway between Houston and Cuero I lost most of my pedal and what little bit I had left was real jerky and inconsistent. I pulled over and scanned it with my power pup and came up with P2121 Pedal Position Sensor . I limped back to Houston and picked up a new APPS (under the driver side battery) and replaced it. That did not fix a thing, then I read that you have to reset it by pressing the releasing the throttle pedal 3 times with the key on engine off. That worked but for less then 100 miles. It’s now doing the same thing but it won’t reset again.

Do I need to take it to a dealer and have them program it or something?

Thanks for any help.

Today at work I swapped back to the stock fuel curve via the power pup and stated it up to make sure it downloaded properly, it did in fact the light check engine light went off and it seemed to run fine. I shut it off and disconnected the batteries for a few hours. When I hooked them back up I turned the key on and pressed the throttle pedal the floor slowly and released it slowly, then turned the key off. I then started it and it ran great. I made it about 10 miles on the way home before the light came on and it stated acting up again.

Am I looking in the wrong place for the problem? Please help I’m lost.
