So I haven't been here for a awhile.. I bought my 03 and was happy. But since my wife felt she needed to go screw the neighbor i gave her the truck so i would have an excuse to buy a new one.. or new to me anyway.

So I am now in the market for a Mega Cab 4X4 with a 5.9. So my big question is with the automatic transmission. Is the 4sp 48RE still the transmission behind the 5.9 through until 2007?

Is the 2007.5 the transition to the 6.7??

Any thing i should look out for when purchasing one?? I am not fussy as to year just that is has a 5.9.

Yes, the 48RE is in the trucks till 07. 07.5 is the start of the 6.7.

There was a while in the 05's, I think, that they were using plastic in the intercoolers. 04 and 04.5 had the canister mounted lift pump, but neither of those things is that big of a deal. I doubt that any of the canister mounted lift pumps are still around.
