I just changed my SLT to a Laramie yesterday
Hey Mark, I've been thinking about doing the same thing. Where did you get the Laramie bumper and how much was it?

I scored mine in the DTR classifieds $100 bucks......with fog lights.
I know the plastic Laramie front is like $212 unpainted from my dealer. I don't know how much the metal backer is??
mine got damaged in shipping so thats why I know how much the plastic part is but my metal backer was fine so I never got a quote on it.
member "phloop" (sp?) went Laramie-SLT and he said it was around $500 for everything.

when I went to picked my Laramie bumper up from the paint shop..the guy ended up asking me about me SLT bumper..and next thing I know he says I give you the paint job and $200 bucks for your old SLT bumper

I said DEAL!!

I was stoked

Wow, you made out pretty well on that deal!

Does your body shop guy happen to need another SLT bumper for $200 and a paint job??

I got my SLT bumper to...in white! Collecting dust in my garage after I added my Frontier full replacement.

The truck has been designed in such a way that gives it a 5-star crash rating - that was rated with the stock bumpers, not some 1,000# steel bumper spiked man-trap of killing destruction.
1. Where the bumpers are attached to the truck, is pretty thin metal. Will still give to some extent.

2. My Lonestar bumper weighs ~250#. I can carry it by myself without any trouble. Put it on without any help. Only maybe 175 extra pounds of payload. Not really that big of a deal.

3. YOU are my crumple zone. If you are the jack*** that cuts me off, and causes me to hit you, kiss my ***. Other than that, sorry.

Put my bumper on after hitting Bambi. Got lucky though. Minimal damage.
