Hybrid Diesel

I had to shutdown shop today because my 10 month old son has a bi lateral ear infection meaning both ears. So we spent the day kicked back in the old recliner watching tv. On the history channel the modern marvels show I saw a hybrid CTD the truck ran off diesel and had a electiric motor. Chrysler engineer said the CTD had 500hp and the electric motor doubled as a generator to charge batteries and provide ac power truck actually had an AC panel on the bedside. Project was started for military use they had a second gen all camo'd out and a third gen on demonstration for civillian use the production version of this on a third gen they called contractor's option I guess for running tools??

I have heard that it may be an option for 06. I think that the generator option will be very helpfull for me on job sites. the 500 HP will be helpfull getting to the site .

I saw that show a while back. Sounds like a real way to get more power "and" more mpg. Best of both worlds...
