Quick note: I believe that "BACKING" a heavy trailer up any incline is the easiest way to DOA a stock tranny.

Always install a trans temp gauge. Watch those temps when towing, could save your trans.

You can really see the temps climb when you are backing a trailer.

120K on mine, 2 solenoid/ transducer replacements, drop and fills every 30K. It shifts properly an right now not having any shuttle shifts. I guess it's doing a good job for me, just wish it was more efficient with the power distribution though.

I have 380,000 on mine and all I do is change the fluid and run a oil additive. Works fine. Ran with 50hp tow setting last 300,000. Good tranny for me.

Have around 58K on my 06 and the trans teps are starting to run 20-30* above normal. Getting about time for a Flex plate/billit input/TC/VB/ clucthes and seals.

Not many miles on it to be having issues and I swear I had nothing to do with it. Now Smarty on the other hand...

30.3k on my 06 right, getting ready to change the pan fluid in a few weeks as it's gotten to be a darker red color rather than that "nice new" bright red. That and it's about time anyway

205k and counting on a stock truck with service every 50k. I had a quad box on for about three months at 100k and that's all. Hope this helps.

My 48RE went last week @ 138 K .Had it rebuilt @ C J's in Dunnellon Fl. I let Terry the service manager call the shots on what went into it. Mostly Billet stuff including a Billet Converter ... I shopped around first including Sun Coast and the best I could do installed was $ 5200 + Tx. . Terry got it done for $3200 Tx included . I'm hoping it stays together .We're pulling out 5 ton fifth wheel over 6000 miles this summer.

112k 20k with larger tires, 12k with a programmer. Windy, dirt and snowpacked gravel and minimum maintenance roads later it was pretty much done. It took some abuse though!

301xxx as of today, and is slipping in 2nd. Its been through 2 converters and 1 valvebody. Truck is use for hot shot in the oil field, so its got a heavy flat bed, and pulls a long trailer regularly. It is serviced every 30-40k.

Just waiting on the new converter to come in and its getting torn down for a rebuild.

Bought my 04 with 75000 miles, tranny went out at 95000, rebuilt under warranty and at now 147xxx went out again and they are trying their best not to warranty the tranny or the cooler. today they were asking me about a chip or programmer and the 5th wheel bracket . I tow a 2000lb 5x10 bumper pull trailer 98% of the time. They are saying that because my cluster idle time and run times have been zeroed out then i must have been running a chip or something. Going to fight with them tomorrow.
