Question How many have had to reset APPS with good results?

Truck is unhooked right now. Died 3 times on me with a dead pedal. Coming to a stop all times so lucky I guess.

Hopefully resetting it will take care of it, don't have the money for a new APPS right now.

So, any thoughts, reassurances hopefully ??

Thanks guys,

Rick

It did not do any good when mine went out. Mine went from good to bad in 50 miles. Threw DTC p2121 with dead pedal every 5-10 miles, then 3-4, the 1-2, then every time I accelerated. Used Smarty to clear codes each time. Went through the reset next morning. It was just bad. Replaced with new one and fine ever since. A very expensive sensor assembly that's for sure.

Then it may not be the apps. Could be fuel pressure, or battery problems.

Well the batteries are new Continentals, and I keep a trickle charger on them once a month, so hope it ain't that. Fuel pressure holds 15 lbs with no spikes, maybe a quiver. How about relief valve on the rail??? Thoughts???

After this happens the truck runs like a top, never misses a beat til the next go round. Happens sometimes once a week but the last time before tonight was well over a month ago. All I know is sometimes I've been able to associate this weird injector sound (hard to explain because I'm not sure it comes from the injectors, but its kind of a timing rattle with a kind of hiss to it)

Made it home with no issue after the reset (I assume it did what it was intended to do)

Yep I will be driving down the road and out of no where the pedal goes dead, it has tension but no response when I push it. I then have to coast to a stop. Crank on it 3 times and it will fire right up like nothing happened. Tonight it fired up 1st time each incident. Only differences tonight were that each time it happened I was pushing in the clutch rolling to a stop and it would just die and the dash would light up. Really stumping me.

Yours sounds like my experience. Reseting did no good(reset it 4 times). Bought one from Timbo......fairly cheap and great service.

Nope..................I was on the road the first time. My cruise would not kick back in when I came out of a work zone......I changed the FF and put some 911 into the tank. I first though I had got some bad fuel in Odessa. I had missed the truck stops and had filled up at a small station. I got home OK, but it would get a dp more and more often. Timbo's APP was about $160.00 delivered, and it took 30 mins to install. I take it back.....I think I did get two codes 2121 and 2126......something like that......it has been a while, those may not be correct.

Thanks for the info.

I'm still open to ideas guys... Dead pedal seems like APPS, but not having codes seems kinda odd.

Accelerator Pedal Positioning Sensor. Its located on the pedal assembly and is what tells the engine throttle outputs.

I had the same issue as you. Truc kwould die coming to a stop sign. Dead pedal feel when I wanted to pass someone.

No codes, no nothing.

Bought a Timbom APPS and the problem has gone away.
