How do I trouble shoot my AC

Usually the washers are different thicknesses. They are used for adjusting the running clearance, between the contact area of the center hub and the pulley. I don`t know the spec. You check by installing a washer , install the center hub and measure the gap with feeler guages then adjust accordingly with a thinner or thicker washer to get the spec. Hope this helps.

I tried the thickest washer then the thinnest washer but there was too much gap. I could see light in there. I ended up with no washers to get the gap closed. Even with no washers I could still spin the clutch by hand. This morning I drove 50 miles to beach and back home another 50 miles. The ac worked great.
