Unhappy hope this does not happen to anyone else

I was coming home from hauling a load of hay. I was only 45 miles from home doing about 75 MPH and noticed blueish white smoke coming from underneath my truck. I stopped at a serivce station to see what it was, and saw the bottom of my truck was dripping black with oil. I believe the oil was coming somewhere between the motor and transmission of my truck.....Its at the dealer now and we will see what they say tomarrow.....Does anyone have and ideas on what might have happened? Thanks guys

i was reading some other posts and found my problem i believe......injector burned a hole in the piston which caused it to spray diesel into the crankcase, which is why my oil level was way over full.........now will dealer warranty it? i dont know currently the only mod on the truck is the AFE i took the edge off awhile back.

No way the AFE could have caused a hole in the piston......

True, but they're gonna try to void the warranty because of it. Prepare for a fight with them.

YIKES! An 04.5 with a hole in the piston? How do you drive to do this? EGT's must have been sky high? Was it the box?

He's only speculating. He doesn't know if thats the problem or not. I'd say its just a faulty seal...lol Everyone simmer down

There are 2 other ways to fill your crankcase with diesel fuel. First is the o-ring between the gear housing and drive gear on the CP3 fuel pump. Second is a cracked injector body that bleeds fuel onto the valve train and the fuel drains with the oil back to the crankcase.

I doubt you have a hole in your piston from an air filter, but yes you will probably have to fight with them. Especially these days with everyone plugging in boxes and then taking them out when they damage something. Enjoy this easy bombing while you can. There is only a couple years (if that) left before DCX figures it out and does something about it.
