how do i tell if it has a ho or a so ??? by the vin??

 

If you give your local dealer the VIN, they can print all the options on your truck. Including the type of engine(HO/SO).

I just looked at my readout, the 8th character designation is "C"((5.9L I6 CYL High Output Turbo Diesel (ETH))

Sorry, I can't tell you SO
