Hissing Noise ??? Please Help...

My truck is making a hissing noise from the front of the motor around the intercooler...... I hear it at different times, however it is very loud when the 1000RPM stock idle for cold weather is on.... If I hit the skinny pedal the RPM'S drop down to 750 and noise goes away..... Does anyone have any ideas is this normal or do I have a leak? By the way Banks is off of truck and has been since before I heard the noise...
Thanks for any help

check your intercooler boots, see if you blew one off.

can you stand out front and narrow it down little more as to where it is coming from? hissing at those RPM's is weird..... is it coming from your air filter? maybe it's getting clogged?.......

I don't know just throwing some stuff out there

My truck has the exact same sound comming from the passanger side(it almost sounds like it is close to the airdam). I only get this in freezing weather, never heard it once when it is hot. My truck runs fine so I realy pay no mind, it's only realy prominent when its first fired up cold.

the power steering pump and gear box are on the lower driver side. is the hydraboost making some noise while the fluid is cold? try turning the wheel when the sound is happening, see if it changes.

i posted this about 2 hours ago, but it dissappeared.

Well I've ruled out the power steering and gear box....... But mine also only does it in freezing weather as far as I know............. Do these trucks hold back exhaust at all to warm up maybe????????

post a link to this thread in the help section. big blue and a few other troublemakers(just kidding) live in college station and a few sets of ears and eyes may narrow it down.
