Hissing Noise
I have a question about my 04.5 truck. At idle there is a hissing noise like an air or vacuum leak. I traced the noise to a black part on the back of the fuel filter canister. This part has a hose coming out of the bottom of it going to the fuel tank. If I kink the line while the engine is idling the hiss noise goes away. Is this normal or should I take the truck in to the dealer? Thanks

Nothing like this. Unfortunately I am having an issue with relay chatter when I turn the key to the on position. When I start the truck, I have pinging going on. May be a trip to the dealer to look at injectors for me.
Otherwise, the only thing that I am hearing is the lift pump going through the prestart exercise. That all sounds normal to me, at least based upon what I got used to with my other two CTD's The sound is mechnical, and could be likened to a hissing noise I suppose.
Sorry, not much help I guess...

I will see if I can hear this later when I start the truck, paying more attention for it, but it seems odd.
