hemi to diesel
I considered doing this back in May since I had a 2004 1500 sport.
After many sleepless nights searching the internet, i found the work involved with the drivetrain and the electrical would not be worth it.
There was an article in an issue of Diewel Power magazine where a guy retrofitted a cummins into a brand new power wagon. Even with having a donor vehicle side by side the electrical was still complecated to make everything work.
So i sold my truck and bought a 2500 diesel, and never looked back.
JR.

If you have a 1500 I wouldn't try it. If its a 2500 or 3500 it can be done, but it will be quite expensive. The engine and tranny alone will probably cost more than if you were to just trade up.
Around $30k out the door, plus or minus the equity in your truck. It can be done but you'll be out $10k+ easily and have a truck that you can't sell or get inspected.
Honestly you'd be better off buying a used 12 valve.
