make sure that you are spinning the converter as you try to install it on the input shaft and engage the pump. keep turning left and right as you apply gentle for into the trans. you have 2 components you are trying to line up at once.

if that doesnt do it, sorry. good luck bud

Yeap, spin left and right with gentle pressure pushing in. Sometimes they can be a pain in the rear.

Just make sure its allllll the way in before bolting trans in. I found out the hard way and have to pull my 95's trans back out and replace the pump after a total rebuild.

I usually do a push in - pull out method as I am turning the converter. Only pulling out 1/16 to 1/8 inch as to not pull off splines of input shaft. I do this because the pump spinns very easily and the converter will spin the pump if it is being "pushed" and not ever engage. If you look the pump can only go in 2 ways, 180 degrees apart. But everybody has their own little "quirk" you just have to find your own way. Like others said though..... Do not try to put it in without being sure it has fell int place. You will have to pull it out about 1/16-3/16" in order to bolt to flexplate. If the converter touches the flexplate before the bellhousing touches the block it is not engaged!!!
