Help with prob.

My truck started to sputter and loose some power. The check gauges light is on. As a green horn I would say fuel or ignition. Drained any water out of the filter housing and will drop at the dealer tommorow. Any ideas?

Where do you live? (How cold is it? Possible fuel jell?).

Well, that's probably not it. Only knowing that you are new to diesels, have a new truck that's sputtering, and it just turned winter, that was my best guess.

Since it's a diesel, it doesn't really have an ignition system...

Anyhow, one of the neat things about having a new truck is the warranty. Let us know what they find.

The dealer said it was a non active code and must have been a loose wire that fixed itself. I replied that things don't fix themselves. He said the tech cleared the code and test drove it with no problems. Before I got home the same problem happened. I called and said told you so. He said the diesel tech broke his thumb and went to the hospital so I should call back tommorow. Once again, good job dealer.

Did they tell you what the code was?

The tech said he found a loose wire going into one of the injectors and recrimped it. The truck ran fine on the way home. We shall see.
