Help installing new upgrade steering

Hi I recently got the steering recall for my 2003 4x4 dodge 3500 but the dealer inspected and said all was good (they did replace my steering pump however). This was the stock steering the truck came with in 2003.

When new the truck steering was spot on. After about 10k it started to get loose (I only have 37k on the truck now). So I planned to install the newly upgraded steering today.

I am installing the parts now but one part, I believe its called the pitman arm (part that connects the steering box to the tie rod..) I had a question with.

This part is a little different than whats currently on the truck. Do I need to put the new pitman arm on or can i use the stock one thats currently on the truck?

I have installed everything but haven't tightened everything up and it would seem that the original pitman arm will work with the new upgrade steering setup.

so the question is do I need to install the new pitman arm that came with the kit?

Thanks

You MUST install the new pitman arm.The angle will be too severe and may cause the link to snap.It may also hit the drag link under compression

I believe it's how you use your truck, if it's a smooth pavement street queen you might be ok. I had mine on order, went 20 miles and sure enough I saw a scatch on the black paint fromt he bottom of the pitman arm threads (drag link) New one's on, no problems.
