Help with fuel filter part numbers.....
Help with fuel filter part numbers.....
I went to LA Freightliner yesterday to pick up some fuel filters. When I gave them Fleetguard P.N. FS19800E they said it didn't exist. Called Dodge and they could only give me a Mopar PN so I went home empty handed.
I want to go back this afternoon but don't want to look like an idiot again. What part number should I have them look up?

They said the couldn't cross reference the numbers. Maybe the dude meant to say he "wouldn't" cross reference the numbers

Here's the thing. I checked the Fleetguard site (Cummins Filtration) and they list the FS19800E. I checked with Geno's and they have FS19856_P, FS19855, FS19579, and FS19579E. I'm confused.....
this help at all?
56_p is the premium '03 to '07(This replaces the FS19800E (updated May 1, 2007).
55 is the standard 10 micron
Please note that effective March, 2007, Fleetguard superceded part number FS19579E with a new part number, FS19855. This is a part number change only. It does not affect the filter itself. The part number is ink stamped on one of the end caps.
Additional Note: During the Summer of 2006, Fleetguard ceased production of the FS19579 Fuel Filter used on the 2000 - 2007 Dodge/Cummins Turbo Diesel. That filter was replaced by the "user friendly" FS19579E. The Stratapore filtration media was not changed. However, the plastic end caps were changed to a more environmentally-friendly material. And, the end caps were made thinner to facilitate installation into and removal from the filter cap. Also, the packaging was changed, and the FS19579E was no longer shipped in individual white Fleetguard boxes.
