Hello all...
New guy first post. Its gonna be long I apologize in advance. I currently own a 2001 short bed extended cab 6spd HO CTD. Im looking to move on to something and sink some money into it for power and altitude. My delimma is Ive been looking for a CR ctd with the 6spd and i cant find one for the life of me in my price range. Ive done quite a bit of research on this motor and what it takes to make power. My question is unfortunatley ive become mildly curious about the PSD becuase i can afford them and ive seen some 6spds out there. What are the major differences in the two motors. I know ford uses oil pressure or something to maintain rail pressure. Is this system reliable i know dodge has always had issues with lift pumps and injection pump failure, although apparently the new pump is more bulletproof than my current VP44. I would like to know the major differences in the motors as well as how hard compared to the CTD it is to make power in the PSD. I know the PSD doesnt smoke as much or sound as nice as the CTD! Thank you in advance.

the IC 7.3 was a good motor, the 6.0 is garbage and i wouldnt drive one if it was given to me! i would just take my time and find a good common rail. they are out there...where are you located?
