Well I had a hard starting problem in my 03 1 ton this past fall, when summer and warm weather hit the hard start went away, now that it has been cold in the mornings once again it won't start without a blast of fire fluid.

Cummins said most likely the injecters need replaced or they can put a reseal kit on them, anyone else with this problem?

Replaced fuel pump 110,000 km
Codes coming up are P 0483, P 0480 not sure what they mean?

PLEASE do not use starting fluid, it destroys the grid heaters if you haven't already. Sorry but I have no answers to your question.

 

don, this i know about starting fluids but it's a long walk from home to work 22 miles. Monday morning the trucks going in to get the injectors and the backflow valve looked at. As far as the codes go I found my answers.

No not yet still waiting to get the truck in, it's been starting better the past 2 days as the weather is warmer, still very ****** at this, first the lift pump now this s*it, 50,000.00 truck and my 92 cummins dodge with 465000 km on it runs better than my 03.
