hard shifting 48re

When I first got my truck it shifted very nice. Then I put the 305/70/17 mtr's on and then it started shifting ruff. Took it to my local dealer and they suggested that I re program the truck for the bigger tires. Seemed like it helped. Although now it is shifting ruff again. 1st to 2nd is the worse. Any ideas?

Try resetting the APPS. Go to the FAQ section to find out the procedure...

Mine is a 05 4x4 W/3.73 gears and it will sometimes break the tires loose on the 1-2 shift , I know that sounds a little on the windy side but it's true, besides I like a hard shifting tranny, a carry over from my racing days I guess.

It seems as if the shift is normal. I test drove another 2500 with the 48re last night and it shifts out the same. This is my first truck with this much torque. I guess a hard shift is a good shift when dealing with this much power.

Do your 315 Bfg's rub ?

Thanks for your thoughts!

Mine only rub at full lock if I hit a bump. Like when I turn into my driveway and I hit that dip. It's so minimal there has been no damage to the tire or the truck. It doesn't bother me....
A firm shift is good. A hard shift may not be...

Hey i have 22,000 miles on my high output and my shifting is a little rough from third to overdrive. its seems like the trucks shifts out of 3rd, then back to 3rd and then finally into overdrive. Any suggestions?

When I say hard shift i mean it gives the truck quite a jolt shifting from 1st to second. I can feal the first shift alot more than the rest. Is this normal?
