had oil changed

i had my oil changed and the dip stick is reading right in the middle of "DIPSTICK". Is this normal or overfilled? obviously it is outside of the "SAFE" zone. I vaguely remember checking the factory oil and it was around the same spot.

You know, I've done about 9 oil changes in my truck; and after its drained I pour in 3 gallons. The oil level never exceeds the full line. Never.

Over filled isn't good, but if you think its a quart - I wouldn't worry about it; or, if you've got a fumoto valve or something similar you could drain a little out to lower the level.

Its a ball valve that replaces the drain plug. I put mine on after the first drain and never looked back. Do a web search for the site, and I think Geno's has them too. I got one with the nipple - next time I'd get one without the nipple. Works great, won't accidently drain the oil either.

There are other variations of those available - look at Geno's they've got them there too.

No point in checking it right after you shut down, it won't be accurate for a couple of hours. Maybe your oil was changed by a new employee that didn't realize that. I'd let the dealer know.

Talking Checking

Checking the oil is normally done in the morning before operating equiptment for the day. Vice versa if you work at night..........you get the idea
