Greasing the front UJ

I bought a greasing needle to grease the little indent in fornt of the transfer case and however hard I try I cannot get a good enough seal to get grease into the little indent.

Do I have the wrong size needle? The one I have has flat tip approx 1/16" in diameter a and a fairly sharp taper after the flat tip, approx 15-20 degrees.

I had a lot of trouble getting it the first time. Seems to need to be at the correct angle before it would work. Probably took me 30 minutes the first time that I did it. I am sure that it will get easier each time though as I get used to getting it in the correct angle.

Magnum is correct. The angle is the key. For me it worked best with the lube point as it is shown in the picture in my gallery. It still took me about 20 paper towels before I got it right.

I thought about gluing a small rubber "thimble" on the end of my shaft (ouch), so that when you push the shaft against the grease fitting, the rubber would seal it. I may try that next time.
