Gotta luv a mystery!

Greetings all,first timer alert!
My 06 mega cab has started a strange habit. When stopping it acts as if you haven't taken your foot off the throttle, pushing against the brakes. When you shift into neutral or park it revs up to about 1500rpm or so before returning to an idle. As soon as you put the tranny in gear it takes off again. PS it is an automatic.

Yup. Sounds like your torque converter. How many miles on the truck?

The last one I drove into my work area with torque converter problem I nearly drove it into the wall. Lucky for me I put shifter into neutral before that happen. Something about a wet floor and stopping a diesel with a converter out, lesson learned.

Unhappy Mystery Solved

Thanks all. Wonder if the BD pressure booster/controller I installed in July had anything to due with the TC failure. There are 240,000 kilometers on the truck.

Doubt it, they go out on stock trucks.
