got my first oil analysis
What do you guys think? They say not to worry about the brass/bronze content. Im not really that impressed with the length of time I got on the Amsoil. They said to change in the next 2k miles which only gives me 9k out of an oil change with two filters. Im thinking of switching to Valvoline Premium Blue because it is available local for a good price. Thanks for all the help

You didn't say how many total miles are on the engine.
The oil is still strong (8.2 TBN) and could go a lot longer than 2K more miles. I think Blackstone is recommending the oil change to establish a baseline of readings for your engine. Once you have two or three good reports, you'll be able to extend the change interval with confidence. Amsoil is good oil for long intervals, but only worth the cost if your going to run it for extended intervals. I run the Valvoline Premium Blue since it is less expensive and I'm changing my oil according to my truck's computer (i.e. less than 7,500 miles).

That may be part of your problem with the higher copper #s. The rest of your wear numbers look good. I would go to 10k on the oil, then resample and change it just to establish a good base line. Then extend service intervals accordingly.
All oil samples should be captured with with the engine and oil at full operating temp. This allows for a real world sample with contaminates still suspended equally in the oil. You should also capture it from either a mid point drain when changing the oil, or drawn from the dipstick tube with a vacuum pump. (the preferred method) If you decide to continue with the method you are using, at least make sure the engine and oil temps are up as previously stated.

The engine was fully warm when I did it. But you are right that might be the reason for the copper. I am going to go to valvoline blue in 2k miles cus its bunches cheaper and easier to get and then go from there. Thanks for all the help.

I didnt even think about that. I am using the Amsoil 15-40 Marine oil I didnt know that it was a full synthetic. Im not sure though. Do you guys think Ill have a problem going to Valvoline Premium Blue from using the Amsoil. I just cant afford it right now. Thanks

That's because Delo needs molybdenum. Not required in a "real" synthetic. There's some trace amounts from his old oil.... that's why the low reading.
I'm not so sure that I agree that the sample method was at fault (maybe if the silicon reading was really high....).
Regardless of what you change you, I would pull another sample (try a "cleaner" method if you can) when you change that oil out and see what the copper is up to.
