Friom what I hear I should use 75w90 up front and 75w140 in the rear, what brand oil is best redline, valvoline, mopar, mobil?????? Do I need one of those hose thingys in order to get the oil from the bottle into the diff, or is there enough clearance to fit the bottle over the fill hole and just pour it in? Any special tools needed? Any other suggestions are greatly appreciated!!!

 

I'm doing mine today with amsoil severe gear 75w/90. I will just use a flexible funnel for the front diff. Truck has 15500 on it.

 

I use Mobil 1 75W-90 in the rear (no front diff to worry about). No special tools needed, although a funnel is helpful.

 

I used redline 75w90 in the front and redline heavy shockproof 75w90 in the back. From what I understood the shockproof flowed like a 75w90 oil but protected like a thicker oil. I also got a pml diff cover for the rear and that will really help with the next change. Pics are in my photo gallery. I needed a funnel for the front but no funnel for the back. Remove the spare tire and you have a whole lot more room to work with.

 

I bought my gear oil in a 5 gallon can and then put a pump on it. Price came down to $6 - $7 a quart and then I have enough for about 3 changes on both differentials. I went with Valvoline as I also use that in the engine.
