Got 96,000 miles on the meter and just started to notice a little smoke while the truck is at idle. Should I be worried ? What has changed ? Injector problems coming ? Trucks runs great by the way, just like always. Trying to head off a problem before it becomes major.

Bout the most accurate way of finding out is have the dealer do an injector efficiency test. Mean time, run some injector cleaner w/ cetane boost. Diesel Power is good stuff. Made by the same people that makes sta-bil for gas.

 

Make sure your oil level isn't coming up, indicating injector trouble. My friends' Duramax started smoking at idle, injector failure caused fuel in the oil that caused oil level to rise two inches.

Mine did the same thing. It was a dirty injector, 2 bottles of cleaner and it was gone.
