G56 pops out of gear in reverse

My truck has been popping out of reverse only when backing down a hill.
It doesn't pop out under power, just de-celleration.
If I hold the stick back when going down a hill, it wont pop out.
I live on a hill, so every morning I back down a steep hill to turn around.
I just coast now because of this problem.
Kind of a big bang when it pops out, sounds bad.
It has done it since it was new.
I just thought I wasn't getting it all the way into gear, because I can really jam it back and wiggle it in forcefully and it wont pop out.
Anyone else have this problem?

The only tranny I ever had that popped out of gear did it due to low/worn out fluid.

Have you checked that?

I cannot believe with a $4000+ gearbox that you did not take it to the dealer under warranty. Only times I have heard of gears popping out was either worn bearings or worn gears

Like I said, it didnt do it very often. The dealer doesnt have a hill to back down either, and they are 1 1/2 hours away. i have a SBC double disk clutch also, so I doubted they would ever consider looking at my gearbox.

Try putting it in reverse, dont pull it back hard, just pull it back lightly and try backing down a steep hill maybe giving it fuel a couple times. Mine pops out just as I tap the throttle.
