G56 is getting really hard to shift

2006 with stock engine and tranny. Truck has roughly 200K on it of mostly highway and city miles without load. I had the clutch replaced with a heavy duty single mass unit about 60K ago.

Recently the truck has been REALLY hard to get into gear(especially when its hot)... No grinding or anything, I just push the clutch all the way in and have to press HARD on the shifter to get it to engage

No other signs really... pulled the codes and nothing came up....

Anyone else had this happen?

Did you get the slave cylinder replaced? My nv5600 is getting to be that way too, seems it wants to grab at about an inch off the floorboard, 1st and reverse especially notchier. Im thinking it may be the slave, but in the back of my head I also think it could be the flywheel getting ate up.

A standard tranny wont throw codes its non electric. Have you tried pumping the clutch, if it works when you do that then like stated above. When have you serviced it? I changed my g56's fluid about every 60k when i was running them

I did replace the slave and master cylinders when I changed the clutch out

same problem as those gears only like to engage VERY close to the floor... Ill try pumping the clutch

I actually have NOT changed the fluid in the tranny for about 100K miles, didnt think I needed to do it every 60K since i dont pull anything and do mainly freeway driving. When the clutch and flywheel were replaced( I went to a single mass flywheel),it was the entire kit with a new master and slave cylinder. I have not changed the fluid since.

as a point of interest the problem is VERY noticable after driving it on the freeway for awhile then I come to a stop.... almost **** impossible to get it into gear without turning the truck off first and then firing it up while in gear

running atf 4 in these trannies changing it is very import. no trans should go a 100k between changes. sounds like a fluid issue once the fluid warms up. i would change it and see what it does.

I recently had the same thing happen for about 6 months so I brought it into a tranny shop, and he said the shift tower had broken 2 pieces off and found them in the bottom on the tranny, now it shifts awesome again, hopefully it's just a fluid isssue with yours
