Fyi Open Airbox

My local Cat dealer has an oil analysis lab on site. I went by and talked to the lab manager awhile back and he gave me a suction pump to fit their sample bottles. I went next door to parts and purchased a case (12) of the bottles. At that time the case price was about $12.00/bottle, individual bottles were slightly higher. That price includes the processing fees in the lab. The results are usually ready in about two days and they will email and snail mail them to you. You give them the info on your vehicle and they will set up a profile for you to help you track the contaminates and wear indicators in the future.

There was discussion of obtaining an oil sample on the open airbox thread. Posting this information at the end of the thread didn't seem to make much sense. I thought more people might benefit from it and be more likely to see it if it were posted separately. It's just another resource that may be locally available to people that they might not have known about.
