I have an 05 quad cab, 4x4, auto with 212000. I've had the truck for the last 15000. Lately I've been having issues with the trans when I really get on it. I don't floor it much, but every now and then I need it to move. When I do floor it its like the truck goes into neutral. I've had transmissions that are slipping and feel similar to going into neutral, but they have all still had a little pull to them just not good power. This time it just will stop moving and free rev. untill I let the rpm's down to almost idle. Anything less than full throttle and it drives great no issues at all and I haul an enclosed trailer all day every day. It pulls hard up steep hills fine as long as I don't try to take the throttle near max. I'm hoping maybe its like a TPS or something I can adjust or replace in the trans. I've tried the search function, but it just brings up a blank white page over and over. Any help will be much appreciated. Ken.

 

I had this problem with the 03 truck I used to have. I replaced the valve body and it never happened again....

Oh, and could someone tell me if there is a way to tell if the trans is rebuild or not. I would think it is judging by the miles on it and how well it runs (other than full throttle of course), but I've never messed with the inside of a tranny so wouldn't know what to look for.

 

It wasn't hard for me since I used to build my own Torqueflite transmissions when I used to drag race. It's pretty simple but it's a very messy job because every bolt you loosen causes more trans fluid to come out.
It's really hard to tell if it's been rebuilt or not without tearing it apart and inspecting the parts inside.
