Fuel System Question
I always partially torque the injector hold downs, Install my tube, partially torque the tubes and then work everything to it's final torque. Probably the biggest problem we see in the shop is customers over torquing fuel lines and connector tube holders!
Another thought, We always reuse connector tubes, You might pull them out and check the ends! We see alot of customers that get grit or trash on the end of the tube and reinstall and have leaks or damage a injector. Secondly, You never know when you have a reman injector thats got problems!
boy oh boy i really would rather not have to do those injectors again. With a tube not seating correctly and the rail empty wouldnt it not start in the first place? Im just wondering if the relief valve happened to fail just after i did the injectors.
Also can you diesel leaking around the injectors if you have the valve cover off while cranking and a connecting tube isnt seated properly.

Yes you could see it. If you've got fuel in the oil, it's got to be a leaking injector or connector tube. It takes me about 45 minutes from start to finish if the phone dosent ring, valve adjustment and all. Its worth re-doing if it endangers the life of the motor! Fuel in the oil will destroy the bearings rockers and all within 30 miles under the right conditions.
I've got some pictures of a truck I did a HG, Injectors and Rockers on. All 12 Rockers, Bridges and Pivots were shot. The rockers were so hard to turn it was holding valves open and 2 pushrods missed the rockers and bent!

alright well when i somehow get back to my shop Ill pop the valve cover off and see if i can see any diesel around an injector while cranking. thanks for the suggestions, I'll let you have your thread back now.
These threads are for learning reasons, Feel free to post back here. As I said before, I only needed some thoughts and specs. Hopefully we can turn this thread into somthing someone else can use!
Turns out that the truck needs more than 250mL of fuel to start.
Put a factory in tank in it and she runs great! Still low on fuel spec at about 720mL of flow in 10 Seconds at about 12PSI.
Thanks for the help on the specs, hopefully this thread can be of use to someone!

just to update ya if you were curious there mysteryinc my problem wasnt a bad pump, valve etc. Not enough compression to fire. Just the lightest wiff of ether and it would fire but miss on the front hole. Opened my oil cap up with the truck running and it has huge blowby. Ive never seen an engine full of oil go from starting and running great to losing compression to the point that it wont fire within so short a time. Oh well its only money. Glad to hear you got your issue sorted.
