Fuel pump?

A friend I work with has an 04 or 05 not sure but it started missing so he took it to the shop and they said that there was a leak at the pump. You have too get under it with a flashlight too see it. I crawled under my 04.5 out of curiosity and the bottom bolt is damp with fuel, cannot really tell where it is coming from. What would you all do ? Wait till something happens or try to fix it now? Or is it normal too be a little damp? Thanks

I had an 04.5 that had the CP3 replaced. They seem to start showing themselves when it is cold and this seems to be happening a lot. Take it to the dealer and get it replaced. It is covered under the Cummins 5/100 mi warranty. The dealer will probably have to order it, but you should still be able to drive your truck until it comes in.

There are two things that were wierd when I took mine in. They had to keep it overnight to "verify" it was leaking. they won't replace it for "seepage", they said. They also tried to charge me the $100 deductible because my truck was over the 3/36 warranty. There is no $100 deductible on the 7/100 Cummins warranty until after 5 years, so don't let them charge you a deductible. It is in the owners manual.

I looked for my leak when I could smell diesel as I got out of the truck.

I took my air hose and blew it off and everything is pretty clean I will watch it for now and see in a few days if it is damp again. Thanks for the advice, I guess I will have too take it too the dealer if it is leaking.
