Fuel pump on 03. Where? How many?

What smarter than me knows where and how many fuel pumps on the 03 CTD? In tank? In engine compartment?

CuriousBob

I believe the "fuel pump" (Fuel Transfer Pump aka Lift Pump) is attached to the rear of the fuel filter/water seperator housing. If you mean the "Fuel Injection Pump", it should be attached to the back of the timing gear cover at the left rear of the engine. HTH

The lift pump is attached to the fuel filter housing. No fuel pump in the fuel tank. Then there is the fuel pump or gear pump and finally the high pressure fuel injection pump. The last two are attached together to form one assembly.
